If you’ve been alive as long as I have, you probably remember when the Internet was just an infant — at least compared to what it is now. In 1993 when I started college, the only web browsers I knew of were Netscape and Internet explorer, and they were nowhere near as advanced as they are now.

It wasn’t until 1996 that Google was introduced, now they’re the biggest search engine on the Internet. Plus, they have all sorts of useful tools, including one that many people have started using in their businesses, Google forms. …

  • Entered music contests in junior high and high school and received superior and excellent ratings.
  • Received the Home Economics Student of the Year award in 12th grade.
  • Received the Modern Language Award my senior year of college at Francis Marion University.

Because weight loss shouldn’t be a drag.

Photo by Jonathan Borba on Unsplash

If you’ve been told you need to lose weight, or you know you need to but have been putting it off, it could be because you don’t think it will be fun. In “Tiny Habits,” BJ Fogg explains how he found in his research that positive experiences reinforce habits, rather than repetition. Yes, you need to eat healthily and exercise most of the time to lose weight, but you won’t stick with it if you’re not enjoying it.

So how can you make weight loss fun? I’ll provide a few ideas in this article.

Make sure the change you’re trying to make is the right intensity.

When you’re trying to create habits…

Have you ever been told “Your work sucks,” or some version of that? We all hate that. When you have to give someone negative feedback on their work, it’s important to do it in a way that balances both the positive and the negative and tells them what they need to work on improving for next time. That’s how employees in all businesses grow. In this article, I’ll share 9 tips to consider when giving constructive criticism to people.

Give them a feedback sandwich.

The pandemic has hit a lot of people hard. Some have lost their jobs, others have gotten it themselves or know someone who got it. Extroverts might deal with the pandemic by talking to others. Introverts, on the other hand, have to find other ways to deal with the stress of these hard times. One of the ways you can do that is by journaling. In this post, I’ll discuss how journaling can help people during other hard times, why journaling works, how to start, and the dos and don’ts of keeping a journal.

Why opening up is powerful.

One study says yes.

Over the past year, more people have started working from home due to the pandemic. This allowed companies to keep their employees working, even though they couldn’t work on-site because of pandemic health concerns.

Working from home has many advantages. You don’t have to commute, and you don’t have to dress up as much. One study showed that working from home can also boost productivity. In this article, I’ll explain the findings from the study and how employees can use them to convince their employers to let them work from home.

If you’ve had a difficult past, you need to make peace with the things that have happened to you.

This could be things people said or did to you or things that happened to you that made your past difficult. How do you make peace with your past, though? This article provides some tips.

Tell yourself, “It is what it is.”

Whatever disturbing experience you had, you can’t change the fact that it happened to you. All you can do is acknowledge it, or at least accept the fact that it happened and move on.

Identify how you feel about the situation.

Think about the different labels you give to your feelings. How did…

#6: Multitasking is a waste of time.

Photo by The Creative Exchange on Unsplash

In today’s world, we often have to perform two or more tasks at once. We might be talking on the phone with someone while at the same time, we’re entering information into a computer, or writing down information people give us. This can cause us to be less effective at the tasks we’re performing.
