This means you might spend long hours at your computer or in front of other digital screens. This puts more strain on your eyes. This article will provide some tips to help maintain good eye health while working from home.

Working from home can be just as stressful as working in an office, but only if you let it be.

Ever since the pandemic started in March 2020, workers have become frazzled, sleep-deprived, and some have started feeling weary and exhausted from the changes that have taken place.

Some people, like me, have seen their spouses get laid off and have to take lower-paying jobs. This leads to more stress because other changes often have to be made. This stress can lead to burnout. Luckily there are ways to deal with it.

What is work from home burnout?

Work from home burnout happens when people can’t separate their work life from their home life. …

Because no one wants to feel negative emotions for a long time.

We’ve all experienced feelings we’d rather not feel. Whether you’re dealing with feelings about losing someone close to you, or you’re feeling sad or depressed about other things going on in your life, a lot of times we’re tempted to deal with those feelings in ways that aren’t healthy for us.

Unhealthy solutions can seem to help our problems, but they’re only temporary. The feelings will still be there when their effects wear off. There are other ways to deal with feelings that are healthier though.

Suppressing feelings

Suppressing feelings is the easiest way to cope with negative feelings. It can be…

Whether you work from home or in an office, emotional intelligence is one of the most critical skills you need to master. Companies have proven that an employee’s emotional intelligence affects a company’s income. Very few leaders in senior-level leadership positions have high emotional intelligence. That means if you have high emotional intelligence, you’re one step ahead of the game. If you’ve been told emotional intelligence isn’t very high, how do you increase it? We’ll cover some tips to raise your emotional intelligence here.

Even songs we love can become annoying when they play on a loop in our minds.

Photo by Eric Nopanen on Unsplash

Have you ever listened to a song and then couldn’t get it out of your head? I know I have. For some reason, certain songs, or types of songs, seem to get stuck in my head all the time. I’ve always wondered why this happens, so I decided to do some research on it. I found out that it’s very common, and that the phenomenon is called earworms, or involuntary music imagery. I’m going to explain why people get earworms, what kinds of songs tend to cause them, and some possible ways to get rid of them.

When you’re feeling strong emotions, you need to deal with them constructively.

When we’re struggling emotionally, such as when a family member dies, or we go through a break-up, we often do things we wouldn’t normally do. We might eat at times we wouldn’t normally eat, or we might lose our appetite altogether. That’s what happened to me when I lost my uncle to non-Hodgkins lymphoma. I actually didn’t feel hungry for a day, which is unusual for me because I have certain go-to snacks I usually eat. But that day, I was doing well to keep my mind on my work, since I couldn’t be in New York for his funeral.

Everyone needs to relax, even if it’s only for a few minutes.

Most of us lead stressful, busy lives. We might have full-time jobs, plus be trying to build a side hustle, and take care of a house and family. Sometimes we take very little time to relax because we tell ourselves we don’t have time to relax. The good news is, it doesn’t take a long time. Most people can relax in 10 minutes or less. Here are a few ways to do that.

Meditate.

Meditation provides many benefits. These include reducing stress, making you less anxious, promoting your emotional health, increasing your self-awareness, lengthening your attention span, reducing age-related memory loss…

When I was a child, I wrote in diaries a lot. I started out with the locking type, then eventually moved to just writing in blank books that I purchased at bookstores. Later on, after the invention of the internet, those journals became blogs, and I even found a private journal website that I still use to record my thoughts about things that are happening in my life.

There are a lot of benefits to keeping a journal or diary…

Motivation is important when you want to create a lot of content.

When you’re trying to build a writing habit, nothing’s more important than motivation. It can be difficult to make yourself write every day, especially if you’ve got a lot of other responsibilities, like a family, a house, a full-time job, or all of the above. I’ve created two tools that help me stay motivated to write, and I’m going to share how I set them up, and how they keep me motivated in this article.

Every successful writer has stressed how important it is to think of new ideas every day, and have some way to capture them. I like…
